General rules for every game on the site

Every game is played from the single account registered in your own name. You may hold one account only, and you must be 18 or over to open it and to play. We hold a gaming licence and verify the identity of our players, so we may ask for documents before a stake, a withdrawal or a bonus is processed.

A bet is placed when you confirm a stake in the game and that stake is accepted by the game server. From that moment the bet is final. You cannot cancel, change or recall a bet once the round has started, and a round that has started must be completed before the result is settled.

  • Stakes are taken from the balance shown in the game at the moment you confirm them.
  • Where you hold both real money and bonus funds, play follows the order set out in the bonus terms, and the game shows which balance is in use.
  • You are responsible for the stake, the number of lines and any side bets you select before each round.
  • Automatic play, including autoplay, places real bets under the same rules as manual play.

Bets cannot be reversed

Once a round has begun we cannot undo it, even where the stake was entered by mistake. If you want firmer control over spend, set a deposit limit or a loss limit in your account before you play.

How bets and spins are settled

Results are produced by the game server, not by the software running on your device. The result recorded on our servers is the result that stands, and it decides every payment for that round. Where the display on your screen differs from the server record, for example because of a graphics or connection fault, the server record applies.

Each game carries its own rules, paytable and help screen, which you can open before you stake. These set out the symbols, winning combinations, side bets and any features the game offers. The theoretical return to player figure is shown in the help screen or information panel of each game, and it is a long-term average across many rounds rather than a promise about a single session.

Winnings are credited to your balance as soon as the round is settled, in the currency of your account and rounded as shown in the cashier. If an amount is credited in error, we may correct the balance and will tell you when we do.

Malfunctions, errors and interrupted games

A malfunction voids all pays and play. If a game, the software behind it or the hardware it runs on does not work as intended, any result, win or balance it produced is void, and affected stakes are returned to your account balance. This applies whether the fault is found during the round or afterwards.

  • Rounds affected by a software error, an incorrect paytable or a pricing fault are void and the stakes are returned.
  • Where a fault has credited an amount that the game rules do not support, we correct the balance and keep a record of the correction.
  • We may pause or withdraw a game while a fault is being looked into.

If you lose your connection

Games keep their state on the server. If your connection drops or you close a game by accident, the unfinished round is held and will either resume when you next open that game or settle automatically under the rules of the game. Any win from a round that settles this way is credited to your balance even if you were not connected when it completed.

Where a round cannot be completed, for example because a feature needs a choice that can no longer be made, the stake for that round is returned. Live tables follow the rules of the table, which usually settle the hand or wager on your behalf.

Bonus funds and promotional play

Bonus funds, free spins and other rewards are governed by the terms of the promotion they came from, read together with our general bonus terms. Where the promotion terms and these rules differ, the promotion terms apply to that bonus.

  • A maximum stake applies while a wagering requirement is open, and the limit is shown in the promotion terms and in your account.
  • Games contribute to wagering at different rates and some do not contribute at all; the contribution table sits with the bonus terms.
  • Rounds placed above the maximum stake, or on excluded games, may be void or may not count towards wagering.
  • Bonus funds cannot be withdrawn until the wagering attached to them is complete, and any remaining bonus balance is removed when the bonus expires.
  • Playing in a way designed only to secure a bonus with little risk, including low-risk betting patterns on table games, may lead to the bonus and any winnings from it being removed.

Live casino and table games

Live tables are hosted by a dealer and run to the pace of the table. The dealer's decisions, including when betting opens and closes, follow the rules of that game and the procedures of the studio. The result called by the dealer and recorded by the studio decides the round.

  • Each table has its own help screen covering stake ranges, side bets and how the game is dealt.
  • Bets must be confirmed before betting closes. A bet that arrives late is not accepted and the stake stays in your balance.
  • Where a card is misdealt, a result is unclear or studio equipment fails, the round may be voided and stakes returned under the rules of the table.
  • The table limits, the seat availability and the minimum stake shown at the table apply to every round you join.

Questions and disputes about a round

If you think a round has settled incorrectly, write to us at support@casino-royalelounge.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. So that we can match your question to the record we hold, please give us the following details.

  1. Tell us the name of the game or the live table you were playing.
  2. Give the date and the time you played, including your time zone.
  3. Include the round or game identifier shown in your game history.
  4. State the stake you placed and the result you expected to see.
  5. Describe in a sentence or two what happened on your screen.

We check the server record for the round and reply with what it shows. Where a fault or an error is confirmed, we correct the balance. Where the record supports the result, we explain how the round settled under the rules of that game. If you are not satisfied with our answer, our complaints procedure sets out the next steps, including referral to an alternative dispute resolution provider at no cost to you.

Staying in control

Our games are for players aged 18 and over. You can set deposit limits, take a time-out or self-exclude from your account at any time. Free, confidential support is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline, and GamStop can block your access to licensed gambling sites in Great Britain.
